John Joseph Puglisi of Binghamton, NY, currently of Asheville, NC, passed peacefully on August 2, 2017 at his residence surrounded by his children.
John was a master brick layer and member of AFECIO Local 42, Binghamton, NY for over 65 years. He was a Sergeant in the United States Marine Corps who served with distinction in the Korean War with 4 battlestars including landing at Inchon and a survivor of the Chosen Reservoir. After the War, he was a Drill Sergeant at Parris Island, SC. John was also a master fisherman and trout feared him.
John is preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Ann Puglisi; and son, William B. Puglisi.
He is survived by his daughters, Anne (Chuck) Johnston of Iowa, Nancy (John) Torris of Florida, and Beth (Tony) Rasch of Georgia; sons, John (Gigi) Puglisi of Pennsylvania and Paul (April) Puglisi of North Carolina; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A celebration of his life will be held September 9, 2017 at 1:00 pm at the VFW Post 6223, Great Bend, PA.
