Albert Roy Reese Sr. peacefully left this earth for his heavenly home on Saturday, August 5, 2017 with his family by his side.
Roy will be missed greatly by his family whom he treasured. He retired from Reese Body Shop which he owned and continued to work from until 2014 when illness took his ability to repair vehicles. His passion was to make his customers happy with his work on every vehicle he repaired.
His greatest loves were his family; his dogs, Sam, Little Bit, Nala and Jiggs, these furbabies were just the most recent in a long line of babies he had over his life; chatting with family members and friends; fishing; and spending time with his grandchildren and his two great grandsons.
Roy was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Henry Sr. and Lela Elmina Cordell Reese; brother, Joseph Henry Reese Jr., sister, June Joyce Reese Burgess; niece, Robin Debra Burgess; granddaughter-in-law, Alicia Stewart Allen whom he loved dearly; half-sisters, Margie Cordell McAfee and Myrtle Reese Hall; and half-brother, Homer Reese.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife, Sarah M. Rickman Reese; son, Albert Roy Reese Jr. (Pam); daughters, Sharon Reese Allen (Charles), April Reese Tweed (Heath) and Gail Reese Wallace (James); grandchildren, Justin Allen (Tiffany), Jared Allen, Cory and Taylor Wallace, Kaitlyn and Wyatt Reese, and Jaiden and Jarrett Jack Tweed; great grandsons, Carson and Brantley Allen.
The family would like to thank Dr. James Hoer and nurse Camilla, nursing staff on the 6th floor Orthopedics at Mission Hospital and the VA Hospice Care. All of the sweet care and attention has been much appreciated during this very difficult time.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, August 8, 2017 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Harwood Home for Funerals.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. James Gass officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
Flowers are accepted and appreciated. Please consider making a donation to Rusty’s Legacy or your choice of animal rescue.
The family will be at the home of Sharon R. Allen, 45 Hershel Lane, Swannanoa.
