Carol Frances Davis, 85, passed away at home in Black Mountain, NC on Sunday August 20, 2017.
Carol was born in Woodruff, SC where she also graduated from high school as a member of the class of 1949. She was a 1953 graduate of Montreat College where she earned a degree in education. She proudly served her country in the United States Air Force. In 1963, she earned her Masters degree from George Peabody College in Nashville, Tennessee. She moved to Alexandria, Virginia and taught school there until she retired. Upon retirement, she moved back to Montreat to be on the college's Board of Visitors. She also did volunteer work for Montreat College and the VA Hospital for many years. One of her remaining goals in life was to visit the beautiful state of Hawaii one more time. Perhaps she was able to pass by on her way to heaven. Her other goal was to return to her hometown of Woodruff. She will be buried there next to her mother and grandparents.
There will be a memorial service on Sunday, September 10th, 2017 at 3:00pm at Christ Community Church Montreat. She loved her church and memorials can be made to Christ Community Church, PO Box 279, Montreat, NC 28757.
