Obituary for Robert Conrad "Bob" Ensley

Robert Conrad "Bob"  Ensley
Robert “Bob” Conrad Ensley, 83, of Swannanoa passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Charles George VA Medical Center.
Mr. Ensley was born September 18, 1934 in Detroit, MI. He was a Veteran of the US Army and a graduate of Western Carolina University. Mr. Ensley retired from Metropolitan Sewage District (MSD) as a Chemist with over 20 years of service and from Mt. Mitchell State Park as a Park Ranger because he had a passion for our mountains. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Swannanoa where he served as a past Deacon. He was a loving and faithful husband, father, devout Christian and a strong family man. Mr. Ensley was preceded in death by his parents, Plato and Connie Jones Ensley; wife, Judith Barnes Ensley and sister, Doris O-May.
Surviving are his sons, Christopher Ensley and Debra Ensley, of Black Mountain, Chet Ensley and Melinda Lambkin of Charlotte, Greg Ensley and wife, Chris of Black Mountain and Mitchell Ensley and wife, Ann Marie of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Emily, Claire, Mark, Meisha, Ashley, Katie, Chelsea and MacGyver.
A graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, October 14, 2017 at Mountain View Memorial Park with the Reverend James Lamb Officiating.
The family will receive friends prior to the graveside from 12:30 – 2:00 p.m. at Harwood Home for Funerals.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Hospice Unit at Charles George VA Medical Center, 1100 Tunnel Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
