Obituary for Barbara Collins (Calloway)
Barbara Calloway Collins, 82, of Black Mountain passed away Saturday, October 28, 2017.
Mrs. Collins was born April 5, 1935 in Rutherford County to the late Charles and Rebecca Calloway. She was a member of Tabernacle United Methodist Church. Barbara enjoyed gardening, traveling out west and flowers.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Dexter Collins and 14 sisters and brothers.
Mrs. Collins is survived by her children, Don Collins (Pam), JoAn Strother (John) and Johnny Collins (Karen); 11 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren; and sisters-in-law, Mildred Collins, Irene Stephenson, and Gerri Davis.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 1, 2017 from 2:00pm to 3:00pm at Mountain View Baptist Church with a Celebration of Life service immediately following with Rev. Michael Harrill officiating. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Tabernacle United Methodist Church, 385 Tabernacle Road, Black Mountain, NC 28711 or CarePartners Hospice, PO Box 25338, Asheville, NC 28813.
