Donald “Donny” Ray Lunsford, 63, of Black Mountain, formerly of Fremont, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017.
Donny was born June 9, 1954 in Port Clinton, Ohio to the late Paul and Artie Britt Lunsford.
He was a long standing, active member of First Presbyterian Church of Fremont where he served as a greeter and usher. Donny enjoyed woodworking and was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings, Paul, Regina, Larry, Susie, and Steve.
He is survived by his wife, Cherie Vought Lunsford; sons, Shane Lunsford (Erin) and Nathan Lunsford (Elicia); sisters, Tammy Spallinger and Brenda Hatt; brothers, Jerry and Gary Lunsford; five grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Sunday, November 5, 2017 at 3:00pm at Black Mountain United Methodist Church with Rev. Bob Tuttle officiating.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church.
A local memorial service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the family at 509 Tomahawk Ave., Unit 1, Black Mountain, NC 28711.
