Obituary for Donald Davis "Shaky" Roberts
Donald Davis “Shaky” Roberts, 87, of Black Mountain, passed November 10, 2017 at the John F. Keever Solace Center.
Don was born one of ten children to the late Talcott and Mary Lee Roberts. He was raised in Blackstone, VA and moved to NC in 1962. Don was an avid golfer and longtime member of Black Mountain Golf Club. He had five holes in one on the Black Mountain Golf Course and one hole in one on the Asheville Municipal Golf Course. He played his last 18 holes on November 1, 2017.
Don is survived by his daughter, Sarah Witt of Raleigh; son, Ben Roberts of Raleigh; grandchildren, Clare Witt and William Witt; sisters, Annie Cibula and Etta Leigh Parker; brother, Calvin Roberts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of Don’s life will be held at the Tap In Grill at the Black Mountain Golf Club on Saturday, December 2, 2017 from 3:30 to 5:30 pm.
