Obituary for Darrell Eugene Russell

Darrell Eugene Russell
Darrell Eugene Russell, 53, of Old Fort, went to be with the Lord on Saturday, January 6, 2018.
Darrell was born July 14, 1964 in Buncombe County to Thelma Russell and the late Norman Russell. He was employed with Grovestone & Sand Company for 31 years, and was a member of Chestnut Hill Baptist Church. Darrell loved his family and dogs. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed being on the lake.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Sonya Russell; daughter, Kari Biggs and husband, Matthew; sisters, Diane Banks, Frances Denny, Jean Lanning, and Lisa Robinson; brother, Leslie Russell; and grandchildren, Hunter, Maylee, David, and Holden Biggs.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, January 9, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Harwood Home for Funerals.
A celebration of life service will be Wednesday, January 10, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Ronnie Harris and Frank Norton officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
