Albert Charles Wojtyna Sr. of Black Mountain died the first of February 2018 at his home. He was born in McCandless, P.A to the late Mary Moryto and Joseph L. Wojtyna. Al was retired from the Army and had served in Europe, Pacific, Japan, and Vietnam. During his military career he also served a tour of duty in the Air Force. In 1974 he moved from Rockville, MD to Black Mountain and was employed by the V.A Medical Hospital and retired in 1990.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Arlene and his daughter Diana, four brothers and five sisters. He is survived by his daughters Linda Dempsey of Hampton, TN, Christina Ford of Black Mountain, NC, and son Albert Jr. of Black Mountain, NC. In addition to his three children, Albert is survived by his most dear friend and son in law David Ford. Albert was a proud grandfather to Sage Ford (Caroline) of Cambridge UK, Diana Pruitt (Blake) of Knoxville, TN, Cassidy Ford (Eric) of Black Mountain, NC and Cody Dempsey of Knoxville, TN. Further survived by great grandchildren Brian Pruitt of Knoxville, TN and Cosmo Ford of Cambridge, UK and many loving nieces and nephews.
Albert will be best remembered as a loving father and grandfather, and a proud patriot and US Army Veteran.
