Donna Hughes, 86, of Black Mountain, passed away February 13, 2018.
Mrs. Hughes was born January 26, 1932 in New Jersey to the late J. Eugene and Caroline Matthews. Donna and her late husband, Jim, loved to travel, and were actively involved in various activities and clubs with the town including the Lions Club, Land of The Sky Shrine Club, and Black Mountain Center. She was a member of Black Mountain United Methodist Church and attended Tabernacle United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Hughes, sister, Betty Dean; and brother, Durward Matthews.
Donna is survived by her sons, Jamie Hughes (Teri), and Terry Hughes; six grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Monday, February 19, 2018, at 1:00 pm at Tabernacle United Methodist Church with Pastors Mike Macdonald and Michael Harrill, Jr. officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the church.
