Obituary for Julia "Mae" Woody (Stroupe)

Julia "Mae"  Woody (Stroupe)
Julia “Mae” Woody, 82, of East Asheville, went home to be with the Lord on July 30, 2018.
Mae was born June 12, 1936 in Buncombe County to the late Lawrence and Gladys Stroupe. She retired from Kearfott and was a member of East Asheville United Methodist Church.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Elmer James Woody; beloved son-in-law, Tim Hubert; and siblings, Pauline Blankenship, Bill Stroupe, Robert Stroupe, Lorine Burnette, and David Stroupe.
Mae is survived by her daughter, Wanda Hubert; son, Ed Woody (Victoria); grandchildren, Brooke Smith, Whitney Sylvester, and Morgan Woody; great grandchildren, Simeon, Quinn, and Rhea Mae; daughter-in-love, Anja Woody; and #2 son, Ricky Burnette.
The family will receive friends Thursday, August 2, 2018 from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm at East Asheville United Methodist Church with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following.
Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. James Marnock and his staff.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to East Asheville United Methodist Church, 48 Browndale Road, Asheville, NC 28805.
