Bobby “Bob” J. Morgan, 78, of Fairview, fought the fight and kept the faith and entered into eternal rest on October 5, 2018. A native of Carter County, TN, Bobby was preceded in death by his parents, William E. Morgan and Mary Belle Miller; brothers, Roger, Eddie, Johnny, and Jack; and sister, Sylvia.
Bob served as a Deacon at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church where he was very faithful and committed for 40 years. Bob was also able to go on numerous mission trips inside the United States and 34 outside.
Bob retired from ABF Freight Systems after 13 years and previously was employed as a block mason. Bob volunteered at Fairview VFD and was a charter member of Garren Creek VFD for many years.
Mr. Morgan is survived by his wife of 54 years, Eva Garrison Morgan; sons, Andrew (Tammy), Phillip, and Ronnie; daughter, Elisabeth “Libby” all of Fairview; grandchildren, Kaylin, Jacob, Anna Marie, and A.J.; great grandchild, Tanner; brothers, Billy, Willie and Timmy; sisters, Wilma, Judy and Nellie; and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral service for Mr. Morgan will be on Sunday, October 7, 2018 at 3:00pm at Chestnut Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. Ronnie Harris and Rev. Andrew Parker officiating.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Chestnut Hill Baptist Church, Youth Mission’s Fund, 1657 Old Fort Road, Fairview, NC 28730.
