Rick Harwood

Rick was born in Michigan to Evelyn Harwood and the late Emory Harwood, but has been a lifelong resident of Black Mountain. He graduated from CD Owen High School in 1974. After graduating from high school, he was employed with Miller Funeral Home in Black Mountain for 22 years, of which he then attended and graduated from Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service in 1996. He is a licensed funeral director and embalmer with over 40 years experience in the funeral industry. 
Rick is married to Linda Greer Harwood who is employed with the firm full time now as a funeral service assistant. They have two children, Amber Harwood Puckett and Aaron Harwood.  
Rick is a member of Mountain View Baptist Church where he has served as a Deacon and on the Hospitality Committee. He is also a member of the Black Mountain Rotary, Black Mountain-Swannanoa Valley Chamber of Commerce, The Better Business Bureau, and the North Carolina Funeral Directors Association (NCFDA).
In his spare time, he enjoys working in the yard, camping, golfing, and spending time with family and friends.  

Amber Harwood Puckett

Amber is the daughter of Rick and Linda Greer Harwood, owners of Harwood Home for Funerals. She graduated from CD Owen High School in 1998. She attended Gardner Webb University and graduated from Western Carolina University in 2002 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Criminal Justice. She is a member of the Epsilon Gamma Chapter of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority where she was the Chapter Life Vice President. Amber then moved to Atlanta to pursue an education in Mortuary Science; graduating from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 2004 where she received her Associate of Science in Funeral Service degree.
After moving back to NC, she pursued a career in Crime Scene Investigations with the Winston Salem Police Department. She then moved back to Black Mountain/Swannanoa Valley where she began working at Harwood Home for Funerals in 2007 when her father purchased Miller Funeral Home. She is a Funeral Service Licensee. Pre Need Consultant, and agent with Investors Heritage Life Insurance Company. 
Amber is married to Tyler Puckett and they have two children, Gavin and Gabriella. She is a member of Biltmore Baptist church. In her spare time, she enjoys shopping, traveling, playing sports, and spending quality time with her family and friends.

Tyler is a native of Stuart, VA where he attended Patrick County High School. He later moved to Mount Airy, NC where he graduated from Mt. Airy High School in 2002. Tyler attended Surry Community College, later attending and graduating from Gupton-Jones College of Funeral Service in 2004 with an Associate's Degree in Funeral Service. Tyler started working in the funeral industry with Moody's Funeral Services in Mount Airy. While attending school in GA, he worked for Parrott Funeral Home, Inc in Fairburn, GA. After graduating, he worked his apprenticeship at Madison Funeral Home, Inc and later that year received his license.
Tyler has since worked for Hayworth-Miller Funeral Home, Inc. in Winston Salem, NC. Tyler is married to Amber Harwood Puckett and they have two children, Gavin and Gabriella. Tyler is a member of Biltmore Baptist Church. In his spare time, he enjoys the outdoors, traveling and sports.  

Tiffany Huffman

Tiffany is a resident of the Fairview Community, a 2010 graduate of A.C. Reynolds High School and a 2011 graduate of Gupton Jones College of Funeral Service where she received her Associates of Science in Funeral Service degree. She is a licensed Funeral Director/Embalmer, Pre Need Consultant, and agent with Investors Heritage Life Insurance Company.
She is the daughter of Doug and Jan Huffman.
Tiffany is a member of Emmanuel Full Gospel and is the Owen Warhorse Youth Football and Cheer League Marketing and Communications Coordinator.
She enjoys spending time with her family and friends, and traveling.

Randy Bartlett

Randy is a lifelong resident of Black Mountain and the son of the late Charles and Bonita Bartlett. Randy graduated Owen High School in 1983. He is married to Theresa Ray Bartlett and is a member of East Black Mountain Free Will Baptist Church where he serves as a Deacon. Randy retired from Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Center where he cared for Alzheimer’s patients. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with family, fishing, camping and working outdoors.

Randy is a Funeral Service Assistant and Crematory Operator who assists in working visitations and funerals.

Although they are not licensed funeral directors, these staff members are vitally important to the operation of our firm. These individuals make it possible for us to professionally coordinate funerals with the quality of service our community has come to expect from us.

Linda is a native and lifelong resident of Swannanoa/Black Mountain. She graduated from CD Owen High School in 1977 and attended American Business and Fashion Institute in Charlotte. She is currently working full time for Harwood Home for Funerals and Mountain View Memorial Park. 
She is the daughter of Charles and Pansy Greer of Swannanoa. Linda is a member of Mountain View Baptist Church.  
In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her grandchildren, Gavin, Gabriella, Annabelle, Wren, family and friends; reading, traveling and shopping.

Evelyn Harwood

Evelyn was born in Spartanburg, SC to the late Rev. Johnny and Georgia Franks who moved to Black Mountain when Evelyn was 11 years old. She graduated from Black Mountain High School and attended Blanton's Business College and Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College. Evelyn was married to Emory Harwood who passed away in 1997. They have three children, Ricky, Brenda and Steve.  
After retiring from N.C. Department of Human Resources as Accountant I in 1990 and Mountain View Baptist Church as Business Administrator in 2006, she went to work with her son, Rick at the funeral home.
She is a member of Mountain View Baptist Church and is active in the church's Senior Ministry. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling and reading.

Charles Greer

Charles is a resident of Swannanoa. He is married to Pansy Watson Greer and they have two daughters, Linda Greer Harwood and Brenda Wilkie. He is a member of Grove Stone Baptist Church.  
Charles retired from Steelcase and began work in the funeral industry in 1998. He assists in working visitations and funerals.  
In his spare time, he enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends, especially, his grandchildren, Amber and Aaron and great grandchildren, Gavin, Gabriella, Annabelle and Wren.

Mark Mumpower

Mark is a lifelong resident of Swannanoa. He is the son of Charles and Jean Mumpower also from Swannanoa. Mark is a 1986 graduate of Charles D. Owen High School. He is married to Maria Jimison Mumpower and they have one daughter, McKenna Diana Mumpower. Mark and his family attend Mountain View Church in Black Mountain. Mark retired from the State of North Carolina on May 1, 2020 with 30 years and 9 months of service. He was the Maintenance Department Supervisor over the painters, carpenters and grounds at Black Mountain Neuro-Medical Treatment Center. Mark enjoys spending time with his family and friend, going on vacations, also watching his daughter play softball and volleyball. Mark also enjoys hunting, fishing, riding his motorcycle and working in his yard. Mark is a Funeral Service Assistant who assists with working visitations and funerals. 


Bud Lewis

Bud is native of Buncombe County having lived in the Black Mountain area most of his life. He is married to Lillian Goins Lewis and they have 3 children. He is a member of First Baptist Church, Black Mountain where he serves as an active Deacon. Bud has been in the funeral industry since 2002. He assisted in working visitations and funerals.    

Aaron Harwood

Aaron was born and raised in Swannanoa; he is the son of Rick and Linda Greer Harwood; graduating from CD Owen High School in 2005. He is a full time EMT with Buncombe County EMS and part time firefighter/engineer with Enka Candler Fire & Rescue. He was named Fireman of the Year in 2007.  
He is married to the former Whitney Cogburn, and they have two daughters, Annabelle and Wren. When he is not busy at the fire stations, he is assisting with visitations and funerals at the funeral home. 
In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his wife and daughters, hunting and the outdoors.

Worth Frink

Mr. Frink resided at Highland Farms and had been in the funeral industry for 18 years. Worth has two sons and five grandchildren. Worth previously was employed with Williams Funeral Service. He assisted in working visitations and funerals. He was a member of Beverly Hills Baptist Church and was a Veteran of WWII with 3 1/2 years in the Army Air Corp.

Roger Capps

Roger Capps and his wife Janice, both retired educators, live in East Asheville. Both of them retired from Owen district schools after 30 years of service to the public schools of North Carolina. They are long time members of Beverly Hills Baptist Church. Their one son Greg and his wife Julia, also residents of East Asheville, have three children. Rogers interests are trout fishing, reading, handyman projects, baking cakes, walking their three Bichon dogs, and spending time with family, especially the three grandchildren.
Roger is a graduate of Asheville-Biltmore College, Appalachian State University, and most recently Fayetteville Technical College. In August of 2011, he received his Funeral Service Director's diploma from Fayetteville Tech.

Roger feels his latest mission in life is to work with families to help them through one of the most difficult times of their life - the death of a loved one.
