Obituary for William Lewis Raines

William Lewis  Raines
William Lewis Raines, 93, of Swannanoa passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 24, 2014.
Mr. Raines was born February 10, 1921 in Haywood County. He was a decorated veteran of the US Marine Corp serving during WWII.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Althea Walls Raines; wife, Mildred McClure Raines; son, William Richard Raines and a sister, Betty Raines.
Surviving are his daughter, Judi R. Lewis (Howard) of Mooresville; daughter-in-law, Ann Raines of Old Fort; five grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Gladys Brigman of Asheville and Lois Milton of Black Mountain.
A graveside service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, June 27, 2014 in the chapel of Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
