Richard Bradley Burgess, 52, of Black Mountain, passed away Monday, August 25, 2014 after a long illness.
Richard was born November 20, 1961 in Buncombe County. He was a graduate of Owen High School class of 1980.
He is preceded in death by his father, Austin Burgess.
Richard is survived by his mother, Katherryn Burgess of Black Mountain; sister, Cheryl Edwards (Alan) of Black Mountain; brother, Brent Burgess (Wanda) of Canton; nieces and nephews, Ryan, Aaron, and Austin Edwards, Ryan Roberts, Rachel Taylor, and Bryce Burgess; and many great nieces and nephews who he was known to them as “Unk”.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, August 28, 2014 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with Reverend David Phillips officiating.
The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at a later date.
