Obituary for Evelyn "Evie" Moore
Evelyn “Evie” Moore, 79, of Swannanoa, passed away Thursday, August 28, 2014.
Mrs. Moore was born September 5, 1934 in upstate New York to the late Herschel and Viola Borst. She has spent the last 16 years in the Swannanoa Valley.
Evie spent 26 years overseas working with US Embassies abroad while raising her family. She was a member of Warren Wilson Presbyterian Church.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 56 years, Thomas Moore; children, Heather Moore (Donato Sardella) of California, Jennifer Moore of Alaska, and Dan Moore (Faryl) of Asheville, NC; sister, Loreley McLaughlin of Montana; grandchildren, Tristan, Jaden, Kian, and Ryker Moore, and Katherine Sardella.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00pm, Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Warren Wilson Presbyterian Church.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Warren Wilson College, 701 Warren Wilson Rd., Swannanoa, NC 28778 or ABCCM Veterans Headquarters, 30 Cumberland Avenue, Asheville, NC 28801.
