Pauline Vogelsang, 93, passed away March 5, 2015.
She was born January 25, 1922 in Pennsylvania to the late Lester and Jenny Swavely. Pauline was a nurse during WWII and continued her nursing career afterwards retiring in 1988. She has been a resident of Buncombe County for over 25 years and an active member of First Baptist Church, Black Mountain.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her children, Ronald Vogelsang and Linda Vogelsang.
Pauline is survived by her children, Norman Vogelsang and family from Matawan, NJ, Marilyn Pilcher and family from Buncombe County, NC, Joann Lang of Belmar, NJ, Barbara and Paul Strohmenger of Neptune, NJ; and Robert Vogelsang of Juneau, AK; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
The family will receive friends Tuesday, March 10, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Harwood Home for Funerals.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at 12:00 pm at First Baptist Church, Black Mountain. Burial will follow at 2:00 pm at the Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery.
