Dorothy Wheeler Melton passed away peacefully Tuesday, March 24, 2015.
She was born in Yancey County to the late Benjamin and Hettie Wheeler. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her daughter, Ruth Davis.
Dorothy is survived by her granddaughter, Gina Stout and husband, Dan; grandson, Roger Davis and wife, Lynn. Also surviving are four great grandchildren and four great-great-granddaughters. She also leaves behind many loved and cherished family and friends.
The family is forever grateful for the thoughtful and compassionate care provided by Marie, Susan, Tyler and Kendra. A special thank you to Hospice of Charlotte and Dot’s nurse, Tiffany.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, March 27, 2015 at 2:00pm in the chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals. Burial will be in Mountain View Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 2:00 Friday, prior to the service time.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to Calvary Free Will Baptist Church.
