Jerry David Brooks, 60, of Asheville went to be with Jesus on Monday, April 6, 2015.
He was born June 26, 1954 in Buncombe County to J.D. and Katherine Brooks.
Jerry had a great compassion for animals, most of all cats. He was always more concerned for others than himself, and he had a kind, gentle spirit. He was a self-employed mechanic and had worked for 20 years with Biltmore. Jerry was also an avid Harley rider, and he was a member of Emmanuel Full Gospel Tabernacle.
Jerry is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Rome and Maggie Williams; paternal grandparents, Henry and Opal Brooks; and wife, Renee Brooks.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his siblings, Larry Brooks (Lorrene), Sandy Craig (Ronnie), Jan Huffman (Doug), Kathy Huffman (Arbie), and Jill Posey (Jason); 11 nieces and nephews; 5 great nephews; and many friends.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Friday, April 10, 2015 at 6:00 pm in the Chapel of Harwood Home for Funerals with Rev. Mike Woodby, Rev. Ronnie Harris, Rev. Willie Warren, and Rev. Doug Huffman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
