Obituary for Matthew David Wyatt

Matthew David Wyatt
We are all shocked and saddened by the sudden death of Matt Wyatt, aka “Chef Matt” on Wednesday, July 15, 2015.
He was a loving and devoted husband to his beautiful wife, Liz Budd Wyatt, and adoring father to their soon to be new arrival. An amazing Chef, he owned and operated “Catering by Matt”. As an instructor, and caterer, and as a self- proclaimed “foodie”, he shared his passion for food with all. Matt was the Chef for the pre-school program at Shalom Children’s Center, Jewish Community Center nourishing mouths, minds and hearts with his customized meal plans for very, very picky children.
Matt was kind, hard-working, respectful, funny, talented, loving, and the list goes on. He was taken from us unexpectedly and far too soon. We are all mourning his loss. Matt was everyone’s best friend and always knew exactly what to say. He had the best smile, an infectious laugh, and the biggest heart. Matt loved spending time with his family, cared for everyone he knew, and was adored by children everywhere, especially his nieces and nephews.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Ruth Leonard; father, Dave and step-mother, Joyce Wyatt; brothers, Gregg Wyatt, Drew Wyatt and wife, Celine; George Wyatt and wife, Natalee; step-siblings, Brandon Davis and wife, Katherine, Mike Davis and wife, Amber, and Joanna Davis; mother and father-in-law, Holli and Jim Budd; uncle, Jerry Wyatt and companion Laurie Wilmoth; aunts, Faye Preston and her husband, Jim and Heidi Wyatt; cousins, Mitzi Cassidy and husband, Sean; Marti Chattin and husband, Robert; Alex Duncan and his wife, Iris, and Tori Sharp and husband, Graham; sister-in-law, Erin Barry and husband, Keenan; nieces and nephews, Jadynn, Addison, Eli, Luke, Rowan, and Dean Holliday.
A Celebration of Matt’s life will be held at 2:30pm on August 22, 2015 at The Lake Eden Event Center, Black Mountain, NC. A reception will follow.
