Robert H. “Bob” Grove joined Christ’s Church Triumphant on October 14, 2015.
He was the son of Robert W. and Susie Horton Grove, of Max Meadows, VA. Born March 31, 1934, Bob lived in Max Meadows until moving with his family to Black Mountain, NC in 1962.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Opal Taylor Grove and one brother.
He is survived by his daughter, Karen Austin of Black Mountain; son, Michael Grove (Jan) of Canton; four grandchildren, and sister-in-law, Maxine Grove.
Bob was an active member of Black Mountain Presbyterian Church for many years, serving as both a deacon and elder. He was a member of the 663 Lodge of AF & A Masons, achieving the standing of 33rd Degree. Bob was a member emeritus of the AATCC and served as a technical advisor to textile manufacturers in Central and South America.
Funeral Services will be held at Galena Presbyterian Church in Max Meadows, VA Saturday, October 17, 2015 at 2:00pm with interment to follow at West End Cemetery, Wytheville, VA.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time at the church.
