Thomas “Junior” Jones, 87 of Asheville, NC, passed away on May 8, 2016 at the John F. Keever Solace Center in Asheville, NC.
Junior was born November 13, 1928 in Jackson county. He retired from the NC Department of Transportation, Buncombe Maintenance, Division 13 where he was a heavy equipment mechanic.
He attended Grassy Branch Baptist Church where he had severed as a deacon.
Preceding in death was his wife of 48 years, Maggie Davenport Jones; his father, Earle Jones; and mother, Cora Wikle Jones both of Sylva.
Surviving Junior are his sisters, Edna Jones Davis of Asheville and Lois Jones Davis of Sylva; brothers, Curly Jones and JB Jones both of Asheville.
Services will be held Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at 11:00 am at Grassy Branch Baptist Church with Pastor Ken Sausedo officiating. Burial will follow at the Grassy Branch Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at Grassy Branch Baptist Church.
Junior loved the Lord and his wife, Maggie, who he missed dearly. He is now at peace with both. Junior will be dearly missed by all who knew his precious soul.
