Linda Kay Allen Davis, 73, of Asheville, passed away Monday, September 19, 2016 at her home surrounded by her family.
Mrs. Davis was born August 11, 1943 in Buncombe County where she lived all of her life.
Linda retired from Buncombe County Public Schools and was a member of Grassy Branch Baptist Church for 52 years. She sang with The Happy Hearts Quartet for 50 years.
She is the daughter of the late James R. and Iris M. Allen. In addition to her father, she is preceded in death by her stepmother, Verlie Allen; and brother, Douglas Allen; and beloved aunt, Norma Allen Bustle.
Linda is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, Joseph Davis; daughters, Jamie Moody (Matt) and Kristan Davis both of AL; son, Joseph Davis, Jr. (Caroline) of Marshall; sister, Vickie Smith of KY; 8 grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held Thursday, September 22, 2016 at 7:00 p.m. at Grassy Branch Baptist Church with the Rev. Garren Gunn Davis and Rev. Kenneth Sausedo officiating.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00, Thursday prior to the service time at the church.
A graveside service will be held Friday, September 23, 2016 at 11:00am at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
